Wellness and Safety

Thrive is an initiative started by UBC and adopted by many post-secondary institutions to celebrate community, encourage self-care and promote mental health literacy. The goal of Thrive is to bring students, faculty, and staff together to do something fun, healthy and encourage positive physical and mental health.

NIC is committed to providing all members of the college community with a safe and secure environment free from all forms of sexualized violence. NIC will ensure that survivors and those impacted by sexualized violence are supported when addressing any disclosures or reports under the Sexualized Violence Prevention and Response policy.

If you or someone you know has experienced sexual violence, talk to a college counsellor, Student Life or Human Resources. We will provide support services and accommodations in a safe, secure environment that respects your unique needs. Whether you choose to disclose or report your experience, we will help you get the support you need. To reach out for support, email student.affairs@nic.bc.ca

The Technology-Facilitated Sexualized Violence (TFSV) Training is a 45-minute online course that helps participants understand, recognize, and respond to TFSV. Grounded in principles like accessibility, cultural safety, and trauma-informed practice, it explores key concepts, common myths, real-life scenarios, and supportive response strategies. Developed by BC post-secondary institutions and government partners, the training aims to foster safer, more informed campus communities.
