NIC offers a course feedback survey to give you a chance to share your thoughts about your learning experience at the middle and end of your course. It’s a short, informal survey designed to help your instructors understand what’s working well and where improvements could be made. Your feedback is confidential and goes directly to your instructor to support both your learning and their professional growth. The survey is managed by the Centre for Teaching and Learning Innovation.
All instructors (except Continuing Education and DAL Instruction programming) are invited to opt into one or two course surveys aimed to get your input (student perspectives on courses and learning!.
There is a mid-course and a end-of-course feedback survey. Instructors have a choice to opt in or not. Ask your instructor if they have opted in!
Instructors have the choice to opt in to the survey. Once they opt in their course, you will receive an email from feedback2@nic.bc.ca (legit NIC email run by the teaching and learning centre).
The email will contain the links of all courses that are open for feedback. Since there are varied start and end dates for courses you may receive more than one email at different times to provide feedback.
See the Schedule PDF above for when course surveys are sent out to students. It all depends on the ‘percentage’ of time that has passed since the start of a course.
You just click on the link that comes to your email, see your courses, fill out your responses to the questions and hit submit. That’s it.
All responses are anonymous and are aggregated into a report for instructors. Instructors get a summary report of your responses a few days after a mid-course survey and about 10 days after the end of a course.
